Challenge
Spacetalk is one of the most trusted technology platforms in Australia, but current perception confines the the company to be seen as just ‘those wearables for kids.’
With the launch of a completely rebuilt app in November 2025, the company is headed in a new direction, and needed a platform to be able to share this repositioning with the world.
In a pivot towards a SaaS model, the new app becomes the centrepiece of the Spacetalk ecosystem, joining wearables and mobile plans to create a connected experience that keeps children safe, and families free.
The app launch required more storytelling than was possible on the current Shopify site, so Nightjar proposed a standalone site to capture emotion and the aspirational consumer, while optimising the current Shopify site.

Solution
Spacetalk enables safety, peace of mind and freedom for life, for every member of your village. We wanted to bring some moments of family connection to the new digital platform, focussing on the higher order benefits in combination with the physical product.
With an upgraded app the hero of the new ecosystem, we wanted to focus on UI moments, bringing interaction and animation to demonstrate its features, and how it works in harmony with Spacetalk’s wearables and mobile plans.
The new Spacetalk.io platform was built on Sanity and Vercel, and then guided users to the Shopify site for purchase, which we upgraded after conducting a data analysis deep dive. It revealed the product page as the biggest opportunity for improving engagement and conversion, so we applied proven eCommerce principles to sharpen product value communication and reduce friction in the buying journey:
- Elevated product storytelling to better express the brand, benefits, and “why” behind each product
- Optimised product variants to make customisation simple and intuitive for users
- Highlighted key product features in a clear, user-led format to drive confidence and purchase intent
Hype Reel
To showcase the numerous advantages of the innovative app and its surrounding ecosystem, we created an engaging and dynamic hype reel that highlight user experiences and key features. With a catchy, high-energy track, the content lives on the new site, as well as in press and comms.
Outcome
Within 24hrs of the platform launch, the Shopify site increased conversion rate by an enormous 47%. The focus on telling a compelling story with clear benefits on a modern, and seamless scrolling experience, combined with decreased points of friction at checkout made this project a huge success for Spacetalk. The new platform is a key step towards achieving their ambition of an evolution to a software company.
