Partnerships Director
The studio runs well. You'll make it run better.
Nightjar is a design and technology studio building brands, digital products and platforms for ambitious companies. Our work is recognised globally. Our clients are category leaders. We're growing, and we're ready to bring in the person who'll shape how that growth happens.
The role
This is a senior leadership position for someone who thinks strategically about client relationships, business development and studio performance. You'll work closely with the founders to set the direction for how Nightjar engages the market, grows its client base and delivers an experience that matches the quality of our work.
You'll lead a senior client services team, own the commercial health of the studio's relationships, and be the person who ensures the right opportunities find their way to us. You understand the value of long-term partnerships over transactional wins, and you know how to build both.
This is not an operational role. It's a commercial and relationship leadership role, for someone who sees the bigger picture and knows how to move people toward it.
What you'll own
- Drive new business development alongside the founders, shaping proposals and helping close the right opportunities
- Lead, mentor and grow the client services team, setting the standard for how we engage, communicate and deliver
- Own the client relationship from brief to delivery and everything in between, building trust at every level of the partnership
- Identify and act on opportunities to grow existing accounts, deepening scope and value over time
- You'll have clear visibility into studio financials and own the metrics that matter: account profitability, revenue growth, new business contribution, and utilisation. This is a commercial leadership role as much as a client one.
- Hold the studio accountable to project profitability, tracking margins, flagging risks early, and pushing for better commercial outcomes
- Build and refine the processes, frameworks and standards that define the experience of working with Nightjar
- Bridge production and senior leadership, keeping both sides aligned, informed and moving at the pace this studio demands
- Represent Nightjar in the market, at industry events, in pitches, and wherever the right conversations are happening
Who you are
You have 8 or more years in client services or account leadership, most of it inside a digital, design or creative agency. You've led teams, not just accounts. You know the difference between a client who is happy and a client who is invested, and you know how to move people from one to the other.
You're commercially sharp. You understand project economics, read a budget as well as a brief, and spot scope creep before it becomes a conversation. You're comfortable talking about money, negotiating hard, and making the call when something is not working.
You build trust quickly, with clients and with teams. People know where they stand with you. You're direct without being abrasive, and you have high standards without making the people around you feel small.
You bring urgency to the day-to-day without manufacturing drama. You can hold a long relationship and a short deadline at the same time. And when something goes wrong, you fix it first and debrief second.
You do not need to be managed. You'll come in, understand what Nightjar is, and build something that makes it better.
